ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Darrel, a qualified counsellor offering a safe, down-to-earth space where you can talk things through, explore what’s going on for you, and feel more like yourself again.
I hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (accredited by the King’s Trust) and have trained in psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). In practice, that means I don’t follow one set method, instead, I tailor each session to suit you and your needs.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years in leadership, mentoring, and supporting others through both personal and professional challenges. I’ve also experienced my own struggles, including grief, identity issues, and work-related stress, and I bring that real-life understanding into the work I do. I know how powerful it can be to have someone properly listen, without judgement, and walk alongside you when things feel tough.
I work with people facing all sorts of challenges: anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, life changes, confidence issues, or just feeling lost or stuck. You don’t need to have a diagnosis, just a sense that something isn’t right and a willingness to explore that.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and honest. I’ll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, gently challenge where it helps, and support you in finding clarity and direction, at a pace that feels right for you.
